If there’s one word that defines 2025 at CrossFit Green Leaf, it’s resilience.
This year asked a lot of us; mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially. It challenged our systems, tested our patience, and stretched our capacity to lead with grace. And yet, through every high and low, one thing remained constant: this community showed up.

One of our proudest moments of the year was hosting the Rise & Grind Competition, benefiting the veteran organization Boot Campaign. It was more than barbells and sweat. It was athletes coming together in service of something bigger than themselves.
2025 required flexibility and evolution. We expanded our programming to include HYROX training, helping members build endurance, grit, and race-specific skills. Many athletes stepped onto the competition floor for the first time at the Dallas Hyrox race, proving to themselves that they were capable of far more than they imagined.

We also launched the CrossFit Green Leaf Barbell Club, with a dedicated focus on Olympic weightlifting technique. This addition allowed athletes to slow down, refine movement, build confidence under the bar, and deepen their understanding of the snatch and clean & jerk; reinforcing that mastery matters just as much as intensity.
To further support skill development, we hosted a weightlifting seminar with Chris Lofland, giving members hands-on coaching and education that translated directly into better movement and long-term progress.
While we made the difficult decision to cancel WOD for Angels due to sign up limitations, the heart behind the event never faded. Thanks to the generosity of our members, we were still able to take care of every Salvation Army Angel we committed to. That moment reminded us that impact isn’t measured by the size of an event, but by the intention behind it.

During the year, the government shutdown created uncertainty for several members and families. In those moments, Green Leaf became more than a gym, it became a place of understanding, flexibility, and support.
This year also brought change within our coaching staff, as some coaches moved on to new and better opportunities. While transitions are never easy, we are deeply grateful for every coach who has walked through our doors and poured into this community. Their contributions helped shape Green Leaf, and we celebrate their growth beyond our walls.
Service remained a cornerstone of who we are. We proudly collaborated with the City of Grand Prairie for the Big Event, and later partnered again for the Fall Sweep, helping clean up Mike Lewis Park. These efforts reinforced our belief that fitness extends beyond workouts’ it’s about showing up for the community we live in.

The CrossFit Open in March was a powerful reminder of what consistency can do. Members pushed limits, chased firsts, and achieved movements they once thought were out of reach.
Our quarterly nutrition challenge helped members rethink their relationship with food, not through restriction or perfection, but through education, awareness, and sustainable habits that support long-term health.
To be honest, 2025 was not easy for CrossFit Green Leaf. Mistakes were made. Lessons were learned. Systems were strained. But what this year revealed most clearly was our capacity to care for our members, our coaches, and one another. We didn’t quit. We adapted. We supported. We kept showing up.
From a business owner’s perspective, 2025 brought some of the toughest lessons yet. Building something meaningful isn’t just about vision and effort, it’s about people, communication, and accountability. Relationships were tested. Expectations had to be clarified. And the biggest takeaway this year was simple, but not easy: hard conversations cannot be avoided. Delaying them only creates bigger challenges down the road.
Growth required honesty, humility, and the willingness to listen, even when it was uncomfortable. While not every situation was handled perfectly, each moment offered an opportunity to learn, adjust, and lead better. These lessons reshaped how CrossFit Green Leaf operates and how we move forward, more transparent, more intentional, and more committed to doing what’s right for the community as a whole.
As we move into 2026, our intention is clear: Build relationships. Focus on the big picture. Protect the heart of this community. Strength matters. Fitness matters. But what matters most is people.
Thank you for trusting us. Thank you for staying. Thank you for believing in what Green Leaf represents. We step into this new year with humility, intention, and hope, ready to keep building, together. 💚
